    try pressing the caps lock key, that turns always run on/off.

    Some possibilities come to mind:
    1. You've been injured and need to get healthy
    2. You've collected too many things and they are weighing you down.

    If you are running the PC version:
    3. Some other application starting running in the background.
    4. Your PC is not built out to the recommended specs (as opposed to
    required specs) and starts running slowly. I have had this happen to me
    and I had to reboot the game (and maybe the PC) to get things running at
    speed again.
