Some things I hope for in the new engine/game:

1} That the game is as modable as the current one.

2} More natural bodies. The current bodies are very stiff, try to
    make them move more organicly.

3} More pliant flesh. Current skin behaves more like shell than
flesh; the developers should take a look at the latest quality boxing
games (yea that is a bit of a contradiction), the way flesh deforms in
    those games is great.

4} Better AI, or at least more sane AI. Maybe an insect or a Dragon
would rush a knight in full armor wielding a flaming sword, but a
bandit in sackcloth with a dagger wouldn't.

5} The Z-axis. Things that can fly should be able to fly (dragons,
birds, grifons, ect ect). And the PC should be able to use flying
    mounts and magics to fly.

5} Take advantage of modern hardware. Use all the RAM available, use
all the cores available, use high res texture maps, use Windows 7.

The ability to murder children. This is a glitch I noticed whilst hijacking
a colleague's game of Oblivion whilst he was making tea. I sliced up a youngster in an attempt to have the city watch chase his character
everywhere. The child was invincible. Still, it was a good laugh!
