• FALLOUT 3 - Further DLC's

    From Trimble Bracegirdle@no-spam@never.spam to comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg,comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action,alt.games.fallout on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 23:35:11

'Point Lookout' is coming out June 23rd. And 'Mothership Zeta' is scheduled
for a late summer release. Both like 'Operation Anchorage' or 'The Pitt', ie... no increase in levels and can be played at anytime during the game.
    So say Fallout Home Page.

They obviously are going to be released but I read something a while back stating that there would be no more DLC and they would concentrate of Las Vegas. They must have meant after these two.

Point Lookout looks good, really creep and atmospheric.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Mothership Zeta, though. Welcome back,
    alien scum !

I'm hoping to get my new PC ordered and build by the end of the month,
and am looking forward to seeing Fallout 3 (and some older games like
Oblivion and Crysis) in all it's glory.

Hi Mark, I was looking at this yesterday - seems pretty good as a base.

I am hoping they do a big "all the DLC on one disk" release so I can get
    them all together.

A friend of mine is getting the parts for me.

Dual Core Intel, 4 Gig RAM, Case, 1TB SATA drive, a mobo that supports Crossfire, and a ATI 4770 - £350, more or less.

I'll keep my 17" widescreen monitor for now, but will later in the
year get a 22" monitor and a second ATI 4770, and crossfire them.

Should do me for a while :)

I kinda thought it has been announced? Oh yes it has. All five DLCs on
one disc, includes FO3 as well.

Personally I don't mind downloading content, "works for me". In fact,
it works better for me since I may not be getting all of them, it's
more than likely I'll skip Point Lookout. Well, depends on the summer
weather which has sucked around here so far...

Not really sure if Mothership Zeta is going to be much fun if all
aliens are going to be toting Alien Blasters with sure thing criticals
    and 200 damage...

You might have to wait until later in the year to get your first ATI
HD 4770. They've been sold out everywhere for a while now.

    Poop. :(

DLC just doesn't work for the type of gamers I belong to. Those who
play a game, finish it and uninstall it, moving on to the next. I can
count with one hand the RPGs I've replayed (Quest for Glory 1, Mass
Effect, Oblivion, the last part of KotoR 1, hmm... think that's it).

Well, I replayed FO3 a few times, finished it a full 3 times. That
was all at once, and before any of the DLCs. I've no interest in it
now though, and probably won't ever again. That's typically my
    interest in games.
On the other hand I've reinstalled and replayed Fallout 2 more times
than I can count, playing time probably more than any other non
MMORPG, oddly I think I've only finished it about 3 times as well.
